I think we tend to hold onto those things that no longer fit – we live in fear if something ends rather than experience it as an opportunity for huge growth or as you have written – “it is that the fit just isn’t a good one any longer.”

If we can get rid of our own judgement about what it happening – we could be a lot happier.
