I really resonate with many of Deepak Chopra’s writings. One book that really benefitted me tremendously was The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. The first law he talks about is “The Law of Pure Potentiality”.
“The source of all creation is pure consciousness…pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. And when we realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.”
Things begin to flow.
But it is not enough to talk about it. The talking doesn’t get us anywhere. We have to experience silence to get there, the internal kind. We have to practice, give ourselves time to just Be. If we don’t we’ll never truly know what the words mean. We’ll never be able to go where they point. Words are words.

My root teacher, Zen Master Seung Sahn, used to teach that, “You can, you can; you can’t, you can’t.”
How we express our potential is up to us.

I was just saying that to my stepdaughter over the weekend. I hear that alot from her…”I can’t”. And my response…”If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you can’t.” We are the only thing holding ourselves back, most of the time, huh?

I really enjoyed listening to that book on tape. Hearing Chopra say “pure potentiality” over and over–at a steady pace, not the glossing over I get used to doing, a lesson in itself–etched it on my mind. Thanks for the reminder.

In silence, palms together, right back at you Uku.
And Laura, glad to know you have listened to the book on tape. I reference the book every once in a while myself. It just works for me.
